2016 to see an increase in Micro Video

A number of trends were predicted at the South African Social Media Week for 2016 and one of the key takeaways was the increasing growth of micro video. Short-films are quickly dominating regular adverts being aired on television. South African director Terence Neale, is in the international spotlight again for Your Future is Not Mine, a global adidas Originals short film for New York agency, Johannes Leonardo. The launch of 4DX cinemas to change the way we advertise

The first 4DX cinema in Africa launched at Nu Metro V&A Waterfront in Cape Town mid December last year and aims to open 300 more auditoriums across 34 countries by midyear 2016. 4DX includes a huge curved wrap-around screen and promises a full on immersive experience utilising motion, vibration, water, wind, lighting and scents. This is forcing brands to get creative with regards to their cinema advertising.
